Phil Davies takes on the Captains role:

Manager Fil Wisniewski confirmed the appointment of Phil Davies as his first team captain following on from Chris Preece who stepped down last week. Chris had for some time believed that his game was suffering because of the captaincy, and no amount of discussion was going to persuade him.

The club wants to thank him for all his tireless efforts over the time he has been captain and hope he can enjoy his football more, although he is still going to be putting a lot of effort in both on and off the pitch.

Phil takes on the role with both confidence and pride, Fil Wis said that after he had been informed of Chris’s decision, there was a natural leader on the pitch and not just because he was vice captain, so it was an easy thing to approach Phil to be captain. Thankfully he did not take any persuading. “Phil has the qualities of  a true captain and he is an excellent communicator, he leads by example and always gives 150%, he is respected by all the boys and I know he will do really well.”
