Saints Through to Final.

The Saints are through to the final of ‘The Hay Senior Cup’ after a 7-1 victory over local rivals Talgarth Town FC.

The visitors were missing a few regulars and to their credit put in an excellent first half performance which saw them go in at the break 0-1 up after their best player on the night Rob Evans headed a bullet of an header into the back of the net from a corner in the 21st minute.

We piled on the pressure but never really troubled player manager Mark Walsh in the visitors goal except for one excellent save he made rushing off his line in the 17th minute.

Ht 0-1

Within two minutes of the restart after a change of formation we leveled through Will Goodwin who fired a shot past Walsh at the back post. 1-1

Captain Chris Preece bundled the ball over the line in the 50th minute to put us into the lead after a goalmouth scramble. There were big shouts for handball in the build up to the goal which several of our supporters agreed with. 2-1

After this the floodgates opened and we added five more goals through, Jack Biggs, Matty Tong, Callum Maddy, Adi Lawford and defender Adam Finn.
