New away kit for next season kindly sponsored by Creation (Alan McGee).

The Saints put in yet another poor first half performance which us trail 0-1 at the break. After a few stern words from ‘The Gaffer’ we came out and won the game in the second half.

The visitors started brighter and looked the more likely to score early but didn’t carve out any good goal scoring opportunities, they did however, have a couple of long range efforts go over the bar.

In the 33rd minute against the run of play we were awarded a penalty, young striker Matty Tong saw his poor spot kick wide after rushing it. From the resulting goal kick, the ball found the Penybont right winger who sent a cross into our box which defender Harry Gilbert unfortunately sliced into his own net. (0-1)

Ht 0-1

We started the second half with an extra forward and like the previous game it paid dividends as we equalised within a couple of minutes.Defender Richard Meredith picked out Callum Maddy at the box post, the midfielder sending a powerful header past the stranded visitors keeper. (1-1)

One minute later Tong was in on goal but before he could shoot he was taken out and another penalty was awarded. Midfielder Jack Biggs put the ball down and made no mistake with his effort. (2-1)

We were now well on top and in the 59th minute speedster Darren Horrigan cut in from the left and fired across the keeper to add number three. (3-1)

Penybont were awarded a free kick 35 yards which was hit through a crowd of players and it sneaked in at the back post with fifteen to go. (3-2)

The last fifteen didn’t see any more real clear cut chances until injury time when a Penybont player hit the post before the ball was cleared to safety.
