Saints Well Beaten

The Saints lost 3-0 and were second best from start to finish yesterday against a powerful Montgomery Town team. Every single player except goal keeper Tom Bevan lost their personal battle, Bevan pulled off several good saves.

After going a goal down in the 32nd minute, scored by Tom Evans the Monty scorer striker, Saints Matty Tong ran past two ‘Monty’ players and put the ball in the back of the net only for the home linesman to bizarrely flag for offside. That though was as good as it got in the first half with Bevan coming to our rescue with two brilliant saves to keep the score at 1-0.

Ht 1-0

The second half continued with the bigger Monty side more hungry for the ball and it wasn’t long before we went 2-0 down. That was soon 3-0 and the game was over for ‘The Saints’.

Bevan pulled off another fantastic save down to his right to keep Evans’ shot out.

We had a good chance for a consultation on 80 minutes but Adi Lawford put his effort wide.

Ft 3-0

We are a young side and it’s showed in the last two games against bigger more powerful teams. There is still a lot to play for between now and the end of the season so it’s not all doom and gloom.
