The Saints ended their season with a 3-1 home win over third placed Bow Street. The goals were scored by Mike Havard, Tom Weaver and Josh Wisniewski.

The first half had a very end of season feel about it with both sides missing many regulars due to injury or unavailability. Bow Street were the better side and did the get the ball in the net after 30 minutes when Gavin Allen played in Joe Sherwood who finished well but his effort was in vain as the linesman flagged for offside. The Saints never really tested stand in keeper Peter James, the ref blew for halftime with the score at 0-0.
The second half started in a simular pattern as the first with Street edging possession but finding Chris Preece and Wes Evans in commanding form at the back. Street finally got the breakthrough after keeper Steve Price misjudged a Sherwood cross and the ball fell to Phil Evans who made no mistake from close range.
Once again it was Mike Havard who gave The Saints a massive lift after he burst into the box on the right and fired across the oncoming James to make it 1-1.
This changed the balance of play with the homeside now on top, Tom Weaver scored one of the goals of the season after chipping the ball over the head of his marker he then danced his way past a defender before firing a 20 yard effort up into the top corner giving James no chance making it 2-1 to The Saints. Josh Wisniewski put the icing on the cake after James cleared an Ollie Cooke cross which fell the striker some 20 yards out, Wisniewski hit an unstoppable half volley to make it 3-1 at the final whistle.
Not the greatest of games for 75 minutes if I’m honest but the last 15 were enjoyable for The Saints players and supporters. I’m sure if player/manager Huw Bates hadn’t gone off with 15 to go Bow Street would have held on! That’s another drink you owe me mate!
