Sunday Saints score 10.

The Sunday Saints played The Exchange this morning in a league encounter and romped to a 10-0 win.

Hay were 1-0 up within 2 minutes when Chris Mills played a through ball for John Sly who cut it back for Gareth Jenkins to score at the back post. Jenkins soon made it 2-0 with a header from a Graeme Keeble corner. Sly was next on the score sheet after being put through by Kevin Jones. The game then was already won against a poor Exchange side so it was just a matter of how many The Saints would score. Sly got his second again finishing well after being put through by Ian Davies then Jenkins got his hat trick just before the half time whistle.  HT 0-5

The Saints made a few changes at half time giving a a couple of the fringe players a chance to impress the Manager. Matthew Pugh did well at right back and Phil Coombes played well in the right midfield position also getting on the score sheet . Further goals from Kevin Jones(2) , Chris Mills 1 and Ian Davies1 made the final score 0-10. The boys also managed to miss two penalties with Millsy finally scoring the third one.

I’d like to thank Ian Davies for the help he’s given me over the last couple of weeks while I’ve been the caretaker manager.(cheers Donk).

There was a few good performances today which I’ll be passing on to the Manager when he returns. Dan Jones and Graeme Keeble the fullbacks played well but for me the man of the match would be Gareth Jenkins for scoring a hat trick and his overall contribution was very good. The whole team did well from Darren in goal all through to the front two.
