Hinton 3 Saints 2.

The Saints bowed out of the Hereford Journal Cup losing 3-2 to Hinton.

We opened the scoring through Josh Wisniewski and went in 0-1 up after an evenly contested first half.

The hosts were level within a couple of minutes of the second half and then went infront for the first time in the game. The Saints took the game into extra time after a Graeme Keeble cross was headed back across goal by Chris Preece onto the head of Tom Weaver who finished well from close range.

Goal scorer Josh Wisniewski.

Hinton netted the winning goal early in the first period of extra time after stand in keeper Ben Bevan failed to hold onto a deep cross, Bevan went in goal after Ian Jones pulled up with a knee injury, Bevan once again had impressed whilst playing at left back.

I wasn’t at the game but once again the lads felt hard done by some strange refereeing decisions.

Manager Sean Hackett felt his make shift side had done enough to win the game, he praised Ben Bevan but chose Sam Bradley has his man of the match.
