Llandrindod at Home.

The Saints host Llandrindod in a re-arranged fixture due to Rhayader playing in the Emrys Morgan cup which takes preference.

Team news- Captain Steve Jenkins and utility player Josh Davies are out with injuries otherwise manager Fil Wisnieski has a full squad to choose from.

With the weather as it is there will be a pitch  inspection tomorrow.  k.o. 2.00pm.

The Saints ran out 5-0 winners against 3rd in the league Llandrindod Wells who had previously only conceded 6 goals in the league so far this season.

Hay started brightly and didn’t give the away side time to settle in to their passing game. Rob Snedden was instrumental in the first 3 goals setting up the returning Kev Jones from 6 yards for the first. He then put the ball across goal where Mike Ward was on hand to finish at the far post. Joey then scored his second when Snedz flicked the ball on for him to finish with  a strong left foot shot into the roof of the net. Llandod did have a good 10 minute spell before half time however, found the Saints defence in good form and they didn’t really threaten the home goal.HT 3-0.

Llandod started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st pressing The Saints back but again without any real goal threat. Bryan Kirkham looked assured under any high ball and the defence looked solid all game. Llandods keeper did make some good saves in this spell and Hay were wasteful in front of goal on a couple of occasions. The Saints weathered this pressure and a good kick from Kirks set up the 4th goal when he found Snedz. The ball was worked across to the right where Wardy finished well for his 2nd of the day. This effectively finished Llandod and it was then just a question of finishing the game as strongly as possible. Weavs pushed on towards the end looking for a goal but embarrased himself with a woeful effort that he managed to put wide from 8 yards with only the keeper to beat . It was a good thing that all the subs had been used by now as surely he would have been subbed after this. Kirks again kicked well for Cookie who did well on the right. He crossed ,obviously without looking who was in the middle, as Weavs popped up in the 6 yard box to finish with a big grin on his face and waving to all those who had previosly given him stick for his previous effort. FT 5-0

A fantastic performance from The Saints who showed that on the day they are capable of beating the best sides in the league.

Hay: Kirkham, Keeble, Stu Davies, Havard, Phil Davies(Ian Jones), Ward(Howard), Preece , Weaver, Williams, Kev Jones(Cooke), Snedden.
