Saint Harmon Away.

The Saints came away from a very bleak St Harmon with the 3 points in a game that was spoilt by the conditions. The eventual 4-0 result in Hays favour did not really reflect the total domination of the visiting side. Missed chances and some good goalkeeping particularly in the 1st half kept the score down.

The Saints had the advantage of a very strong wind in the 1st half but this together with a very bumpy pitch and occasional stormy showers made playing any sort of decent football very difficult. Jamie Howard did hit the bar with a terrific first time shot with the keeper well beaten and the rebound just eluded the Hay forwards.Hay went in front after 15 minutes with Kev Jones turning his marker and slotting the ball home. 10 minutes later and Rob Snedden picked the ball up just outside the box and fired home. Mike Ward finished the scoring finishing off an intricate passing move in the St Harmon box. HT 3-0.

Gavin Williams came on to replace Jamie Howard at half time and the domination continued. Two more quick substitutions, with Stu Davies replacing Garry Keeble and,Graeme Keeble replacing Phil Davies kept the whole days squad involved. Sneds hit the bar from a free kick wide on the left that must have moved about 30 yards in the air on the wind.Other than that it was making sure that the occasional visit into the Saints half was dealt with and pressure on the St Harmon back four for much of the half. Wardy scored the final goal slotting home at the far post. FT 4-0.
