Bronllys 1 Saints 3.

The Saints picked up three points today after a 1-3 victory against local rivals Bronllys.

Toby Johnson opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a thumping header from a corner, after this early setback Bronllys settled into the game with former Saint Ed Harris winning a lot of ball in the middle of the park but it was the away side who looked more likely to extend their lead, Paul Ward Willis going close with a header which just looped over the bar. Stu Snedden and Gav Williams both went close when in on goal, the home side saw a lot of the ball but never really tested Bradley in the Saints goal. Ht 0-1.

After some stern words from player manager Dan Jones the Saints came out and dominated the second half, several chances went begging before new signing James Walters made it 0-2 when his inswinging corner went directly into the back of the net with Bronllys player manager Rob Gunning helping it over the line(Your goal though Jim).

It was soon 0-3 when once again a Walters corner wasn’t dealt with, Gav Williams heading the bouncing ball into the back of the net, a couple of more chances were missed before Bronllys got a late consolation through another former Saint Ross Lloyd who dribbled across the edge of the box before hitting a peach of a left foot shot past the stranded Bradley. Ft 1-3.

To be fair to Bronllys they were a much improved side compared to the game earlier in the season, Ed Harris was the best player on the pitch in the first half however he was marked much tighter in the second half and didn’t get a look in. James Walters looked good when he came on especially from set pieces, Dan Jones did very well until he went off injured but my man of the match goes to youngster Toby Johnson who played very well and scored a great header.
