Saints Reserves 1 Rhayader Town Reserves 3.

The Saints went down 1-3 to league leaders Rhayader Town Reserves tonight under the lights at Forest Road.

The visitors were out of the blocks quick putting the hosts under intense pressure right from the kick off and went 0-1 up after 4 minutes after a good break down the left, worse was to follow when new signing Jimmy Walters limped off with a hamstring injury. Rhayader dominated most of the first half but the Saints defended very well and went in at the break only 0-1 down.

The Saints more than held their own in the second period and came very close to equalising but youngster Jack Cripps saw his effort go inches wide with the keeper well beaten. The visitors added a second goal after 80 minutes and a third just a few minutes later to go 0-3 up, Saints striker Paul Ward Willis scored with just a couple of minutes to go to make the final score 1-3 to Rhayader.
