It was the two teams in Orange who left Forest Road happy yesterday, Builth Reserves ran out 1-3 winners and Wellington 1-4 victors.

Saints Reserves 1 Builth Wells Reserves 3.

Dan Jones’ side took a deserved 1-0 lead when Stu Snedden nipped in between two defenders to score after some good link up play between Will Goodwin and Mike Ward. Goodwin then went very close to making to it 2-0 when he ran onto an inch perfect throughball from Paul Ward Willis, Goodwins came back off the post and was cleared to safety.

Builth saw their fair share of the ball but Paul Williams and Toby Johnson were defending stoutly, the visitors finally got the equaliser right on the stroke of half time.

Disaster struck early in the second half when Johnson twisted his knee and was carried off, Builth capitalised on this and scored two quick goals to wrap up the points. ft 1-3.

Saints 1 Wellington 4.

Wellington were very dominant in the early parts of the game which saw the homeside struggling to get out of their own half, the visitors took the lead in the 16th minute, Graeme Keeble blocked a shot but a Wellington striker was first to react as the ball came out to the edge of the area and drilled a low shot past Kirkham in the Saints goal.

The Saints finally started putting pressue on the Wellington goal and got an equaliser just before half time, a good move involving several players saw striker Josh Davies score to make it 1-1 at the break.

The second half was end to end but the homeside were guilty on several occasions of getting caught pushing up which resulted in a break away goal to make it 1-2. Captain Chris Preece, Josh Davies and Tom Weaver all had chances to score the equaliser but it wasn’t to be and yet another breakaway saw the  visitors go 1-3 up. With just a few minutes to go the goal of the game was scored from the Wellington number 14 who curled in a beaut from distance. ft 1-4.
