Saints 9 Knighton Res 0

The Saints went into this match with several players missing but were soon a goal up when striker Kevin Jones turned his marker and finished well in the bottom right corner of the goal. Jones who scored 6 when the sides met at Knighton got his second when he headed in a cross from winger Jamie Howard. Howard then got on the score sheet when Jones returned the favour and put him through to finish and make it 3-0. Jones then scored his third to claim his hat-trick. Michael Ward made it 5 finishing at the back post and Jones got his 4th to make the half time score 6-0.

Hay continued to dominate with Jones scoring two more and Ward getting his second. Keeper Ian Davies had to make a good save from a long range effort to help keep that important clean sheet.

Another good team performance with the defence keeping their shape while most of the play was up the other end. It was good to Sam Powell back in the green and white of the Saints after his extended holiday down under.

The man of the match award this week would have to go Kev Jones for scoring 6 and making 2 of the goals.
