Saints Win Last Friendly.

The Saints travelled to Hereford tonight for a friendly match with Hereford Premier league side Hinton and came away with 2-3 victory.

In a close fought encounter all the goals were scored in the first half. Striker Kevin Jones put the Saints 0-1 up after a throughball from Finn, a mistake at the back brought the hosts level and five minutes later they went 2-1 up.

On the half hour mark the home keeper pulled off a top drawer save from Lewis Pritchard only for Brendan Hacketts corner to be met with a thumping header from Phil Davies making it 2-2.

Jones got what turned out to be the winner just before half time when he beat the offside trap and curled in a shot from 25 yards.

The first half was very even but Hay were the dominant side in the second period but just couldn’t add to their tally.

Phil Davies impressed again in his new midfield role as did youngster Adam Finn, I also thought Kevin Jones led the line very well against a physical homeside.
