First Loss of the Season.

The Saints put in their worst performance of the season tonight losing 2-5 against Rhosgoch.

With the rain pouring down from the start Rhosgoch enjoyed the better of a dour first half with Liam Jones and Joey Price going close but it was Stu Davies of Hay who opened the scoring when he blasted in from the edge of the box after a corner, the goal coming in the 44th minute, with it looking like the homeside going in at the break 1-0 up a mistake in midfield let in Jones for the visitors who took his goal well to make it 1-1 at ht.

Man of the match Trefor Lloyd hit the goal of the game at the start of the second half, just two minutes later a looping header by Lee Davies made it 1-3 to the visitors, with the Saints pushing to get back in the game the dangerous Joey Price scored a very good goal from an acute angle to make it 1-4, Price then out paced the home defence with ten minutes to go make it 1-5, Rhosgoch did score another goal this time it was an own goal, a lovely lob from their left back caught their keeper stranded for a Saints consolation goal.

A very poor performance from the homeside tonight, I felt we never got going from the start and have no complaints with the loss, Rhosgoch wanted the win more and deservedly won the three points, “TD” was outstanding all night and a special mention to youngster Colin Bagley who never put a foot wrong all night!

One plus point for the Saints was the performance of Gavin Williams who played very well and more importantly lasted the 90 minutes with no reaction to his troublesome ankle.
