Today’s Naina charity football match finished 6-6.
The under 16’s dominated early on, however, it was the coaches who went 1-0 up when Tiny Harding netted at the back post, the lead was short lived, five minutes later it was 1-1 after Connor Lewis scored with a 25 yard lob beating his Dad who was off his line. The coaches then went 2-1 up with the goal of the game, Andrew H Harris blasting one in from the edge of the box with a right foot volley.
The youngsters fitness began to tell as they raced into a 5-2 lead, the experienced coaches fought back and led 6-5 with a minute to go when referee Joe Lewis awarded a penalty for a push in the box, this was scored with the last kick of the game.
Ft 6-6.
A fun day was had by all, both teams were wearing fancy dress in the sunshine, a raffle and auction was held after the game where hopefully lots of money was raised for the Naina charity.
