Brendan Hackett opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

Llanfyllin came at us with all guns blazing in the first ten minutes but never really had a chance on goal,Saints keeper Tom Lewis dealt with everything that came his way with ease and in fact the only chance in that period fell to Saints striker Jack Biggs but his effort went wide.

The visitors took the lead after 22 minutes, Biggs was brought down from behind in the box, the referee really should have shown the home player a red but instead he just pointed to the spot, Brendan Hackett made no mistake in putting us 0-1 up.

Near half time Hackett crossed from right to left and Phil Davies got on the end of it to make it 0-2 at the break.

The second half saw us dominate and it wasn’t long before we were 0-3 up,the in form Rob McNamara scoring from a Hackett through ball. On a rare Llanfyllin attack they managed to reduce the deficit, however, it was only a couple of minutes before it was 1-4, a miscued Hackett shot fell nicely to Davies who scored from close range.

Jack Biggs made it 1-5 and McNamara got two more for his hat-trick and our sixth and seventh goal, the last one a headed goal from a peach of a cross from Will Goodwin.

A good team performance throughout the 90 minutes, we weathered the early storm and took control for the rest of the match. The whole team played well but man of the match has to go to Brendan Hackett, 4 assists and a goal is a pretty good day at the office by any ones standard.

Next week we host Dyffryn Banw of Spar 1 in the league cup.
