We dominated the match from start to finish, Simon Hamer made two good saves in the first 10 minutes from Kevin Jones, in the 14th minute Phil Davie’s header hit the underside of the bar and was cleared off the line, it started to look like one of those days.

The opening goal came in the 19th minute, a one two between Jones and Brendan Hackett saw Hackett pass to the over lapping Davies, the midfielder hit his shot under the diving Hamer 0-1.

Hackett soon made it 0-2, the ball was nodded down to him from midfielder Chris Preece, the youngster finishing from 8 yards out. Phil Davies found the net again in the 30th minute but his effort was rightly ruled out for a foul on the impressive Hamer.

Kevin Jones put us 0-3 on the stroke of half time after a mix up by the Presteigne defenders for a well deserved goal after his first half performance.  Jones was dragging former Saint Alex Winstone out of position making space for Hackett, Davies and Rob McNamara to run in behind. Ht 0-3.

Within 45 seconds of the restart it was 0-4, Hackett’s cheeky back heel found Jones in the area unmarked, the striker placed the ball past Hamer from 12 yards. We had numerous chances after this to add to our tally but Hamer made save after save we also hit the crossbar 3 times, Hamer even saved a Jones penalty to deny him his hat-trick.

The last twenty minutes became the Hackett and Biggs show, Biggs netted a 15 minute hat-trick all set up by Hackett, his second was a very cheeky dink over the diving Hamer, Biggs  then returned the favour with a pass for Hackett to score his second and the teams 8th. Ft 0-8.

A fantastic team performance from 1 to 11 from start to finish, in my opinion our best of the season, with the ball and without our pressing game was spot on in making them make mistakes throughout. The back four once again never put a foot wrong, I think Steve Jones only touched the ball about half a dozen times.

No man of the match, just a great team performance from all.

Quick mentioned for Simon Hamer who was outstanding the whole game.

Team- Steve Jones, Rory Hackett(Sam Bradley), Adam Finn, Tom James, Stu Snedden(Jack Biggs), Chris Preece(Jamie Howard), Stu Davies(c), Rob McNamara, Kevin Jones, Brendan Hackett, Phil Davies.
