The Sunday Saints traveled to Hereford to face third place Cosmos knowing a point would be enough to secure promotion. Again there was changes from the team that won at Belmont last week, in came Phil and Stuart Davies and Sam Bradley, there was also a Saints debut for Sam Lloyd. The first goal came after a bit of pressure from Cosmos, stand in keeper Steve Jones took a cross out of the air and sent a huge punt over the hosts back line and Ben Bevan lept above the keeper and defender to head the Saints into the lead. Shortly after it was two, Bevan and Phil Davies exchanged passes down the left and Davies sent the ball into the box where ‘Brucey’ acrobatically finished into the roof of the net.

On the half hour mark it was effectively game over, Bevan again involved as he raced clear only to be brought down before getting an effort away, the referee pointed to the spot, the defender lucky not to get any other punishment as he was last man. Top scorer ‘Brucey’ calmly finished to the keepers left. HT 0-3. The second half was a bit of a non event, Cosmos knew the game was up and the Saints to their credit were professional in their work and kept things tight and organised and just made sure there was no mistakes to give the hosts any hope. ‘Bruce’, Finn, Jones & Gilligan all had chances to add to the lead but none troubled the keeper. FT 0-3

The Saints got the job done early and took the pressure off themselves, in truth we could have easily have gone up a few more gears, i think Steve Jones in goal only had a one save to make all game.
