Sunday Saints 2 Builth Wells 0.

The Sunday Saints defeated Builth Wells 2-0 tonight in the semi-final of the Ron Ellis cup and will now meet Hay st Marys Mid Wales South side in the final.

Gareth Jenkins put the Saints 1 up in the 20th minute scoring a header from a corner kick. This was 2 minutes after Chris Mills had put his penalty wide after a hand ball by Builth’s centre half. The Saints edged the second half and John Sly made the game safe with 10 to go when he hit a 30 yard screamer from a free kick.

The Saints played well tonight and deserved their victory over the 90 minutes, there were lots of good performances,Graeme Keeble and Zac Snape were excellent in defence, Jon Sly and Mike Price never stopped running all night but for me the best player on the pitch by far was the Saints Captain Wayne Evans.
