Reserves Match Report

The Saints Reserves stayed unbeaten after beating Carno Reserves 3-1.

Andrew Harris’ men started slowly and could have been 2 down after 10 minutes had it not been for Liam Pugh in goal,as he tells everyone, he has improved in the sticks. As the home side got into the game Josh Wiz scored a trademark header from a Jamie (pirlo) Howard free kick.

A good strike from the edge of the box got the visitors back into the game, but just a couple of minutes later a mix up at the back allowed youngster Darren Horrigan to calmly finish for his 5th league goal of the season.

The Saints had a great chance just after half time but Chris Preece’s shot ended up landing on the bottom pitch after a good link up with Tom Weaver.

Hay did get a third goal when Preece made another burst forward to get on the end of a cross some would say it was a OG but Preece claimed it to make it 4 in 4, something unheard of for the defender.

Both teams had a couple of chances, with Horrigan being unlucky with one that was cleared off the line.

The last half a hour the Saints came under some pressure, but the back three stood firm with Stu Rees having his best game yet for the Saints. Graeme  Keeble also did well when coming on  for Dave Jones, one of the many tired(old) legs in the middle.

The final whistle brought a well deserved win and breather for the hands on hips players(more like Molby than pirlo).

A good team performance but I think Bunt  in goal stood out and after his hand bags so did Rory Hackett.
