Reserves 1-4 Knighton Reserves

The Reserves lost 4-1 at home to in form Knighton Reserves at a blustery Forest Road on Saturday. Despite going ahead through Stuart Snedden, the visitors hit four goals without reply to come away with a resounding victory.

The Saints were in front after just three minutes when good work from Kevin Jones on the left saw him deliver a pin point cross which Snedden slid in to finish. Jones was again involved switching the play to Kevin Goodwin and after beating his man he dragged a left-foot shot a foot past the near post. Knighton equalised mid-way through the half when a long-ball forward was picked up and a rasping drive beat Michael Ward.

Knighton started the second-half superbly with two quick-fire goals, and added a fourth seventy minutes in when a cross from the right was nodded past Ward. Hay had little response with Darren Horrigan stinging the palms of the ‘keeper and Jones sending a rising free-kick over the bar from 30 yards.

Saints: Ward, Snedden, Bradley, S. Jones, Dan Jones, Williams, Howard, Weaver, K. Jones, Goodwin, Horrigan.

Subs: Ratcliffe, Dave Jones, Maddy.
