The visitors started the brighter pegging the Saints back in the early parts of the game. The Borth number 9 was put through on goal but Tom Lewis saved well with his legs to keep the striker out. The game was then held up for a long period after midfielder Adam Finn suffered a dislocation to his patella. The Paramedics had to put it back in on the pitch before taking him to hospital.

Once the game was restarted we took control and got on top of the visitors, however, it took a “worldy” just before half time to open the scoring. Striker Kevin Jones who has had a stop start season hit a shot on the half volley with the outside of his boot, his effort flew into the top corner. Ht 1-0.

In the 57th minute Rob Snedden played a through ball which Jones scored from to double the advantage. The Saints back four did well to keep Ryan Davies quiet, the Borth striker has been our nemesis this season scoring countless goals against us.

With 15 minutes to go Ben Bevan’s shot was deflected into the net to make it 3-0 and pretty much game over. The lively Borth substitute Stan Stanford did pull a goal back with a well taken effort to make it 3-1 with 8 minutes to go.

It was left to the old timer Tom Weaver in his last appearance for the Saints to have the last word. Weaver beat the offside trap and lobbed the advancing Borth keeper from the edge of the area with the last kick of the game to make the final score 4-1.

A good result to finish a very enjoyable season for Jenko and the lads which has resulted in promotion to division 1. A big thank you to everyone who helped out yesterday in feeding and watering half of Borth and Hay. Also thanks to all the helpers in setting up the equipment, Donk for sorting the new dug outs which were passed by Phil Woosnam so we can rightly take our place in Spar 1.

Thanks to match sponsor Adrian Lambert who chose Kevin Jones has his man of the match.

It was also great to see Josh Davies at the game who was able to go up and collect his trophy from Phil Woosnam.
