The Sunday Saints won a penalty shoot out against Torros FC to win The Ron Ellis Memorial Cup.
The score was 2-2 at full time, the teams had agreed to go straight to penalties if the game was tied. Top scorer Craig Forsyth put the Saints 1-0 up at half time and netted his second on the hour to make it 2-0.
Torros piled the pressure on late and scored with 18 minutes to go to make it 2-1, with the clock ticking down referee Chris Bounds awarded a penalty against Steve Jones for handball. The resulting spot kick was duly dispatched making it 2-2 at the final whistle.
With the penalty shoot out poised at 3-3 after a player from each side had missed it was down to sudden death, firstly goalkeeper Bevan saved with his legs, then his older brother Ben scored the winner for the Saints.
