SQUAD UPDATE
The last couple of months the squad has been hit by a number of players being unavailable due to injuries and work commitments which has resulted in a few poor results after a great start in Spar 1. The squad has been dealt further blows with defender Sam Bradley likely to be out for the season with an injury and Jack Cripps is going to India for six months after Saturday’s game.
Brighter news is that Adi Lawford is pushing for a first team place again after missing a lot of games with niggling injuries and Rob McNamara is back in contention after missing the last month due to a very busy work schedule. Also Phil Davies is making good progress with his knee injury and is hoping to be playing again in February / March.
We have also added to the squad with the re-signings of defender Jake Atkinson after a spell travelling, winger Tom Wilkes for six weeks while back home and defender Steve Jones after a short spell away from Saturday football. Ex Pegasus and Weobley midfielder Danial Elvestad has also joined the club.
Jenks said ”It is a blow losing Sam and Jack but with the four recent signings coming in and the return of Adi, Rob and hopefully Phil will be a massive boost to the squad. This will bring added competition for places and will hopefully help us get back on track. We are still in a respectable position in the league and are in a lot of cup competitions so there is a lot to play for in the second half of the season.
