SAINTS RESERVES 4 BURGHILL 0.

Saints Reserves ran out comfortable winners in the end beating bottom side Burghill 4 o with goals from Stu Davies 2, Will Goodwin and Charlie Jordan.

Visiting Burghill started well and there was no real sign that the result was going to be as comfortable as it turned out to be. The Saints struggled to really get hold of the ball playing with the wind and having to contend with a lively pitch.

Some dangerous balls in to the box from set pieces came to nothing and the visiting keeper made two particularly good saves to foil Will Goodwin and then Graeme Keeble. When the Saints got the ball wide they began to look dangerous and caused the visiting side problems.

The break through came from a free kick from Gr Keeble who hit the ball to the far post where Stu was there to head home. This seemed to give the side confidence and they started to get the ball down and play around the visitors. A fantastic move resulted in the second goal with Gr Keeble playing a one two with brother Garry who from the bye line pulled the ball back for Will Goodwin who finished superbly HT 2-0.

Hay were now in control and the back four were snuffing out most Burghill attacks with no problem. Sulli was called in to action once however but pulled off a fine diving save to his right.

The Saints went further ahead when a Gr Keeble free kick found Alex Winstone at the back post who headed back across goal for Stu to finish off. The visiting keeper again pulled off some excellent saves to save his team further pain. It wasn’t long though before Will was chasing a through ball, the keeper came out and punched the ball straight into the side of Wills head with the ball falling for Charlie Jordan who headed home. Final score The Saints 4 Burghill 0.

A game in which the side played some really good football  and ran out comfortbale winners. Gr Keeble had a good game along with goal scorer supreme Stu Davies in the centre of midfield. The back four all performed well with Wardy looking good at right back. Once again Walshy showed some good touches and looked dangerous on a few occasions. Will Goodwin worked tirelessly up front and deservedly got his goal.

Well done H and the lads.
