SENNYBRIDGE 0 SAINTS 2.

Preece(1), Havard(1).

Match report to follow.

I am afraid that I was late getting to the game and therefore missed the first goal scored by Chris Preece. He told me today that he picked the ball up on the halfway line beat two players, played a one two with Kev Jones and volleyed home into the top corner from 25 yards!!!! If this is not correct I am sure that someone will tell me.

Hay were the far better side in the first half and were trying there best to play football on a pitch that is best politely described as bumpy. On a number of occasions they looked to be breaking through and were either beaten by the pitch or some good defending by the home side. Sennybridge did threaten on a couple of occasions however they were undone by the pitch as much as we were. HT 0-1.

It took a 35 yard free kick by Mike Havard ,that bobbled through the penalty box and beat the keeper who was unsighted, to settle the game. Up to then it was just a question of if the Saints could break through as the home side tired a little. Paul Julian, midfield and Paul Richardson, defence had good games for Sennybridge whilst for Hay Havo had a good game at centre half. It was a good job done with all  battlinng away to secure three points before the crunch game on Saturday against Gwernyfed.
