Hay under 18’s

Hay under 18’s played away to Phoenix on Wednesday evening with both teams travelling to Homer Rd looking to take something away from the game. The game was evenly poised for the majority of the first half with a young Hay side working tirelessly throughout. Jacob Henderson made some fantastic saves to keep the Saints in it at the break and were hopeful of building on this with a more controlled, patient approach in the second half. Within the first fifteen minutes there was a sucker punch for Hay when Phoenix went a goal up. Hay heads never dropped and showed the sort of effort and determination that we expect from players wearing the Hay shirt. Although Hay left empty handed the Gaffer(Jay Probert) still had this to say about the team, ” Considering this was only their third fixture together, Ian and myself are extremely pleased with their progress. Individuals are becoming more confident and it is only a matter of time before we get some points on the board.” Jay also wished to thank the wonderful travelling support the team received on what was a frosty Hereford evening.  Final score Phoenx 1 Hay 0
