The Saints travelled up to Newbridge reserves with several first teamers missing and having to deal with Newbridge having an excellent home record so were expecting a tough match, as it turned out Hay played some excellent football and were in total control all afternoon. The away side going in at the break 3-0 up with goals from Gary keeble, Ollie Cooke and Robbie Snedden. The second half was much the same with Hay playing good attacking football, the only scare came when Hay keeper Ian Jones wanted to get in on the act and started dribbling the ball out of his area, the defence finally clearing it to safety. Further goals from Mike Ward, Phil Davies,Max Walker and one more each for Rob Snedden and man of the match Ollie Cooke made the final score Newbridge res 0 Hay st Marys 8.
