Llanrhaeadr 2 Saints 1.

The Saints went down 2-1 to a battling Llanrhaeadr side.

The first 20 minutes there looked like only one team was going to win the game as The Saints dominated possession againts a very hard working home side but against the run of play Llanrhaeadr went 1-0 up after a goalmouth scrammble.

Llanrhaeadr got on top after the goal and were hitting first time balls over the top for their hard working frontman to chase down, Steve Price in goal made a double save which I’m told by several people you will have a job seeing better this season. ht 1-0

The first 25 minutes of the second period was evenly contested, the homeside went 2-0 up around the 68 minute mark when another ball over the top wasn’t dealt with and the pacey striker finished well giving Price no chance.

There was only one side in it in the last 20 and with 15 to go a penalty was awarded when midfielder Sam Powell was pushed in the box, striker Josh Wisniewski sent the keeper the wrong way to make 2-1. Powell had a great chance to score the equaliser but his went just over the bar. ft 2-1

Manager Chris Baynton felt the homeside played to their strength which was the long ball game and they also worked tirelessly to get the result, he mentioned their number 11 who ran non stop for 80 minutes until he was brought off exhausted.

Team- Steve Price, Dan Jones(Sam Powell), Stu Davies(Sam Mayglothling), Wes Evans, Phil Davies, Brian Dyer, Steve Goodwin, Chris Preece(c), Josh Davies, Kevin Jones(Will Goodwin), Josh Wisniewski.
