The first team went down 5-0 to an impressive Carno FC this afternoon. With players already unavailable, Rob Snedden and Jordan Cooper also had to pull out this morning.

I don’t know any other details until I speak to the manager.

The reserves won comfortably 1-4 at Brecon Northcote FC.

Matt Turrell continued his goal scoring form from centre back with a hat-trick. He opened his account early on only for former ‘Saint’ Corey Evans to replay within two minutes. Turrell got his second from taking a quick free kick while Northcote organised their wall. Jamie Howard made it 1-3 just before half time when he scored from close range.

Tom Bevan made a couple of good saves right at the start of the second half, after that we controlled the game. Darren Horrigan who had been causing problems with his pace all other afternoon was brought down in the area and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Turrell sent the keeper the wrong way to claim his hat-trick.

Ft 1-4.

Manager’s thoughts: It was another fantastic game by the Reserve boys. A tight and cagey opening spell was soon   cancelled out by some excellent pressing and passing. Matty Tong was again strong upfront and supported well this week by Kevin Jones. Although our best outlet remained our wide play, with Stu Rees and Darren Horrigan threaten with surging runs, which unsettled Northcote. Yet, the game was won as much by another strong performance from the back four, with Jamie Howard and later Richard Meridith causing all sorts of problems in the midfield. It was another well deserved 3 points, now it’s a small matter of a cup match next!

Man of the match has to be Matty Turrell for a centre back hat-trick.
