Brendan Hackett opens the scoring.

The Saints won 11-2 this afternoon against Tywyn Bryncrug FC, Steve Morgan leading the way with a 5 goal haul including 4 in eight minutes at the beginning of the second half.

Other scorers were Brendan Hackett(3), Jack Biggs, Adi Lawford and Matt Croose.

The Reserve game was called OFF by St Harmon due to waterlogged pitch. League secretary Paul Worts informed us early on Saturday morning.

Tywyn started the game on the front foot, in the opening fifteen minutes we struggled to adapt to the heavy conditions. We did have a couple of chances on the counter but they went begging as the rain came down heavier.

In the 17th minue Rob Snedden crossed from the right and top scorer Brendan Hackett headed in to put us ahead. 1-0.

Hackett then doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, he beat the full back after a one two with Steve Morgan before passing the ball into the back of the net. 2-0.

A mix up at the back saw the visitors pull a goal back on 30 minutes, the Tywyn striker making no mistake from close range. 2-1.

The two goal advantage was soon restored when Snedden was brought down in the area after being put in on goal by Stu Davies, referee Chris Corfield pointed to the spot. Hackett sent the keeper the wrong to claim his hat-trick. 3-1.

Ht 3-1.

The opening eight minutes of the second half saw us play some of the best football i’ve seen at Forest Road in a long time. In that spell Steve Morgan stole the show with a 4 goal haul, Hackett set him up for the first straight from kick off before he added 3 more.  7-1

Matt Croose scored a header from a Hackett corner for 8-1, youngster Kyle Harding set up Adi Lawford for 9-1, Morgan then netted another for his 5th and our 10th.

Jack Biggs finished our scoring with an excellent solo goal from the edge of the area.

A Tywyn midfielder had the last say scoring from 45 yards, he told me after it was a pass but it looked a great goal whatever it was!

A great performance in difficult conditions, it was also good to have Matt James back from Uni.
