Away Win.

The Saints Reserves won 0-5 this afternoon at St Harmon FC.

Goal scorers were Rob McNamara(2), Chris Preece, Stu Rees and Kevin Jones.

Goal scorer Kevin Jones.

The first half we played into a very strong wind and had to deal with a lot of direct balls over the top of our defence, Richard Meredith and Chris Preece were both outstanding in dealing with the threat and if anything we could of led after good chances were missed or saved from Darren Horrigan, Matty Tong and Rob McNamara. Overall the management team were happy to go in at half time with the scores level knowing we had the wind in the second half.

Ht 0-0

The second half we dominated from start to finish, we went ahead with a goal of the season contender from Kevin Jones who hit a free kick from 40 yards out which flew into the top corner. 0-1

Within a minute of the restart we were awarded a corner which Kyle Harding crossed to the back post for captain Chris Preece who headed in to double the lead. 0-2

Further goals from striker Rob McNamara who volleyed in another Harding corner and defender Stuart Rees put us 4-0 up, McNamara than added his second and our fifth. 0-5

St Harmon were then reduced to ten men for something said to referee Joe Lewis.

A special mention goes to the St Harmon keeper who was brilliant all game, ‘Macca’ could of had a hat-trick if not a double hat-trick if it wasn’t for some great saves by the stopper.

A good performance from all the squad, we played into the wind and kept it tight at the back without conceding and then went at them second half and dominated.

Man of the match Richard Meredith.
