The Saints drew 2-2 with visiting Llansantffraid Village FC.

The visitors dominated the early exchanges but found our back four in good form, restricting them to a couple of long range efforts.

Around the 28th minute striker Tom Landon out paced a defender who then tripped him in the area just as he was about to shoot on goal, referee Eddie Pryce pointed to the spot. Landon picked himself up and blasted the ball down the middle past the visitors keeper. 1-0.

Llansantffraid continued to peg us back, however, in the 37th minute we counter attacked again and won a corner. Callum Maddy whipped in the bacll, Landon guided his header past the static keeper to double the lead. 2-0

The only disappointing part of the day happened 2 minutes after we scored, we were a little sloppy at the back which allowed the experienced Wayne Austin to pull a goal back. 2-1

Ht 2-1

The second half was a tighter affair with chances at both ends, Jamie Howard headed over from a cross, Kevin Jones also had a couple of efforts he probably could of done better with but to be fair he was under pressure on both occasions. The visitors also had a few near misses up our end but Steve Jones was again in good form between the sticks.

The equaliser came in the 80th minute, Dan Hinds the scorer. 2-2

The Llansantffraid keeper messed a free kick up with two minutes to go, the ball falling to striker Jones some 30 yards out, Jones hit it well but the keeper managed to scramble back and save.

Ft 2-2

A good point considering we had a few out injured and the pressure we were under in the opening 30 minutes. I think Llansantffraid won’t be far off come the end of the season with the side they have.
