Steve (Becksy) Price (Goalkeeper). Signed from local rivals Gwernyfed in the close season, one of the most sought after keepers in the area. He is an excellent shot stopper and kicker of the ball, giving his defenders and the rest of the team confidence to play. Has come to the rescue on significant occasions in the short time he has been with us . (Becksy is sponsored this season by Steve Lesbirel of Beacons Business Interiors Ltd).

Josh Davies(Defender) Mr Utility who is one of a very few players who could play in the positions of 1 to 11 and actually has over the past 3 or 4 seasons, making a good show in all areas of the game. A snappy dresser he is also a very very good golfer. A product of the successful Hay youth system. (Josh is sponsored this season by Clive James of CC Jmaes Funeral Director).

Phil Davies (Defence) has this season been appointed Vice Captain. A former Hereford United Youth player, Phil is arguably the best left back in the league, although he is still returning from a serious injury which has kept him out of the game for 4 months. He is also a product of the successful Hay youth system.
(Philly D is this season sponsored by Steve Burt Jenkins).

Chris Preece has again been appointed first team Captain for season 2009/10, comfortable in either a central midfield or centre back position. Hay Saint Mary’s players player of the year 2007/08 and 2008/2009. Chris’ contribution to the team is immeasurable and he has a heart like a loion inspiring all around him to up their performance. Chris spent 4 seasons at the Hereford United Centre of Excellence as well as being a product of the successful Hay youth system. (Preecy is sponsored this season by Derek Keeble of HMB Catley Staite Wealth Management).

Stu Davies (Defence/Midfield) Last season’s reserve team player of the year as well as their top scorer, Stu is solid in his attitude to the game, he is a real student of the game and contributes well both during the games and being involved with delivering the training. A product of the successful Hay youth system.  (Stu is this season sponsored by Oli Price of OM Price Carpentry).   Wes Evans (Centre Back) Signed from Presteigne in the close season where he was a former club captain. He helped The Sunday Saints to the league and cup double last season so is familiar with the club. Wes has settled in and he shares  his all round experience with the younger players, leading by example, he reads the game well. stevie-g.jpg
Steve (Rooney) Goodwin (Midfield) current under 18 captain, who impressed so much in pre season that he is in the first team squad. Elder brother of Will, steve has an all round talent which see’s him comfortable in possession at the back or striding forward to add strength to the attack. He has a fearsome shot from distance. A product of the successful Hay youth system.
Tom Weaver (Midfield). Back after missing most of last season  travelling, Tom returned in time to help us win the title and the Emrys Morgan Cup. He is inspirational and his enthusiasm and doggedness in the centre and just behind the front two is an important part of the Saints’ success. He has taken on the role that former saints legend Jay (Vernon) Probert first instigated which has become locally famous and is expressed as the “Dogs of war” shout in the huddle before the game. A product of the successful Hay youth system. (Weave is this season sponsored by Neil Price of N.Price Builders).

Sam Powell (Midfield) back playing for the Saints after 12 months in Australia. Sam travels back from Swansea where he is at University showing great commitment and spirit. He digs in well in the centre of midfield and is rarely caught wanting. a product of the successful Hay youth system.  (Sam is this season sponsored by Deb Davies and Abi Greenhow of Pughes@Londis)
. Gav Williams (Midfield). Signed from Builth Wells 2 seasons ago by former manager Fil Wis, can playout wide, in midfield or defence, techinally very gifted. Gav favours his left foot but is equally as good with both feet. His pace sets him apart and he offers the management team, amongst other things, quality on crosses. He scores important goals. (Gav is sponsored this season by Andrew Davies).

Kevin Joey Jones (Striker) the Mid-Wales South top scorer with 50 goals in 2007/08 and 62 goals in total for the season. Kevin has been Hay St Mary’s top scorer on three occasions and has an awesome left foot. He is fearsome as an attacker and causes defenders all sorts of problems. Kevin is one of a few in the squad who has played at the level of Spar league before and his experience and guile is invaluable. A product of the successful Hay youth system.
(Joey is sponsored this season by Kelly Jones and Chris Tong of Kutz Barbers).

Josh Wisniewski (striker) the mid wales south top scorer seasons 2006-07 and again in 2008-09. On his return from  spending 12 months in America as part of his University degree, Josh made sure that he continued his record of being the top scorer in  each of the seasons he has played for Hay St Mary’s senior club, bringing his total goals scored to 185.  Largely a product of the successful Hay youth system, he also spent a season at Brecons’ Development Centre before going to Hereford Uniteds Centre of excellence for 5 seasons . (Wiz is sponsored this season by Booksellers Ltd).

Gareth Jenkins (Midfield/Defence) Jenko has recently stepped up to the first team and has made a big impression in doing so, likes to get forward and score the odd goal, although at the minute his strike rate is impressive and not simply the odd goal. Jenko likes a flutter and will gamble pretty much on anything, except on us to lose that is! A product of the successful Hay youth system.  (Jenko is this sponsored this season by Arthur Guiness).

ben-bevan.jpgBen Bevan (Midfield/Striker) signed from Presteigne 1st team at the beginning of last season, Ben has played for several years in the Spar Mid Wales league where he was a member of their championship winning side, He is currently awaiting an operation on his knee, however, is back after a fleeting couple of appearances for Newbridge.  Tom Wilkes (Midfield) was selected for the first team towards the end of last season, very quick feet and a good passer of the ball. Tom has stepped up to the mark and has demonstrated a maturity beyond his years. Jealously regarded by all his teammates, he is arguably ‘longest in the shower’. He is a product of the successful Hay youth system.

Will Goodwin (Striker) Last seasons under 18 top scorer, still only 17 he is an ever present and is a striker in waiting, his strength and tenacity on the ball defies his relatively slight stature. A product of the successful Hay youth system.
