HEREFORD LEAGUE (Cup Game).
Weobley 2 Saints 1 (W.Goodwin).
The Saints went out of the Burghill Cup to a good Weobley side who sit at the top of the 2nd division. Drawing 1-1 at half time the winning goal came from a bullet of a free kick from 30 yards 15 minutes before the end.
Weobley went 1 up after about 5 minutes when we didn’t defend a throw in properly and a good far post header gave Kirks no chance. Weobley continued to look lively however, we satrted to play some good football and got a deserved equaliser from a corner earned after excellent work from Pugh. Mike Psycho Price headed down Pughy’s corner and Will turned the ball home from 5 yards. Right on half time Psycho was desperatley unlucky to see a terrific header hit the post after a good cross from Will. HT 1-1
The second half was a bit of a stalemate with neither side really threatening. We had plenty of the ball and competed well but couldn’t just create that goal chance. Then came the free kick and I must say it was a terrific strike and deserving of winning the game. FT 2-1
