SAINTS v RHAYADER Wednesday 24th Feb kick off 7:30pm

The Saints host third placed Rhayader Town tomorrow night in what can be described as a critical league game.

With the Spar Mid Wales League splitting into 2 Divisions next season the Saints do NOT want to find themselves in the bottom half of the league by the end of the season. Manager Fil Wis is insistant that his side will remain in the top tier of this part of the Welsh Pyramid although he concedes “It is really important that we get maximum points from these remaining home games and that we pick up as many points as we can away from home. I know that we have a backlog of fixtures due to the bad weather issues, although most of the backlog is with away fixtures I am confident that we have the strength in depth with the squad of players. There are still 51 points to play for and we intend to battle for every one of them.”

Although half way through the fixtures, there are only 6 remaining games at home and after tomorrow and this coming saturdays game at home to Penparcau that will leave 4 with 11 still to play away. The contributions of Cliff Havard, Chris Preece, Kevin Jones and others in maintaining the pitches throughout the season should not be underestimated and have largely contributed to us having missed so few home games. Well done to you all.

Please come and give your support.

The manager is pleased to see that Sam Powell is declared fit for tomorrow but sadly Gav Williams continues to be frustrated by his slower progress.

The squad will be: Steven Price, Phil Davies (C), Stu Davies, Josh Davies, Chris Preece, Steve Goodwin, Wes Evans, Sam Mayglothling, Sam Powell, Tom Weaver, Gareth Jenkins, Ben Bevan, Oli Cooke, Kevin Jones, Josh Wisniewski
