Emrys Morgan Cup.

Manager Phil Wisnieski made a couple of changes after the defeat aginst Gwernyfed for the visit of Berriew res in the Emrys Morgan Cup. Berriew fielded a young and energetic side with a couple of pacey strikers. The game was end to end until the 10th minute when recalled striker Ollie Cooke was brought down in the box for a Saints penalty which Rob  Snedden put away into the top left hand corner. After this the Saints took total control with the Berriew back 4 struggling to pick up the classy Snedden. After a quick through ball from Keeble Phil Davies cut in from the left and hit a curling shot into the bottom right hand corner. The goals then started to flow with Snedden hitting a 20 yard dipping volley followed by a Gavin Williams header. Mike Havard made it 5-0 just before half time when he volleyed in from the edge of the box.  (HT 5-0)

The Saints started the second half very much how they the ended the first with constant pressure on the Berriew goal. Snedden made it six when he beat a couple of players with ease and drilled another 20 yarder into the bottom right hand corner. Winger Jamie Howard was causing lots of problems down the right hand side during the game and after one of his crosses found striker Ollie Cooke, Cooke turned and scored a goal which he deserved after the amount of work he put in.  Full Time 7-0.

A much better performance than last week with lots of passing and movement. Ollie Cooke and Gary Keeble worked very hard and Tom Weaver impressed when he came on. The man of the match for me was Rob Snedden who scored a hat trick but also caused them problems all game either upfont or dropping off into midfield.
