Midfielder Jamie Howard sends over a corner.Hay welcomed newly formed Bronllys to Forest Road last night, Saints manager Ben Bevan was without Garry Keeble and Paul Davies due to work commitments but Jack Cripps put on a Saints shirt for the first time this season, while Colan Badham and Gareth Radcliffe also returned.

Bevan fired his men up in the dressing room and stressed how important it was to put Bronllys under the cosh early doors and get an early goal, the Saints did just that and were 1-0 inside two minutes, a perfectly weighted corner was met by the on rushing Ceri Ward and his header was too much for the blues keeper Tom Bevan.1-0. It should have been two just over a minute later when a late challenge in the box resulted in a penalty but Gareth Radcliffe’s poor attempt was easily saved by T.Bevan. It was two shortly after as Cripps got his 1st of the evening, further goals were added by John Sly who grabbed a classy hat-trick, Toby Johnson; who’s well placed effort from 20 yards snuck inside the post, and Jack Cripps got another, to make the half time score line 7-0 which to be honest didn’t really flatter the Saints as when they played football they tore the away side apart.

Both sides came out in the second half with the home side trying to add to the score line while Bronllys were trying to salvage something from the game. Bronllys made some changes and restricted the Saints passing game and were hoping to catch the Saints on the break but Ben Bevan wasn’t tested in the Saints goal. Hay finally managed to break down the stubborn blues defence when Badham fired home shortly after missing an easier chance, and Paul Ward-Willis completed the route late on for this first of the season. Full Time 9-0.

Another good win for the Saints but again the second half again lacked something as it should have been a whole lot more. Ben Bevan couldn’t choose between Jon Sly, Dave Evans and Jack Cripps for the man of the match. The Saints have the weekend off but travel to Llandod next Saturday which will be a much harder game than in recent weeks, while Bronllys host bottom club St Harmon in a 6 pointer
