The Saints went down 1-2 to Hinton tonight at Forest Road.
Josh Davies put the hosts ahead just before half time with a fine individual goal. Hinton had started the stronger, Saints keeper Bryan Kirkham pulled off an excellent in the second minute from the lively Jodie Dawe, the visitors also hit the bar in the first period and must have felt it wasn’t to be their night after the hosts led 1-0 at the break.
The Saints were the better side in the second half but it was the visitors who drew level on 65 minutes, a corner was punched away by Kirkham but the first person to react was a Hinton player who drove the ball home from 16 yards.
The Hinton keeper pulled off the save of the night when he tipped a Mike Havard free kick onto the bar at full stretch, the winning goal came with 10 minutes left after a through ball to the Hinton number 11 who looked 2 yards offside to most people in the ground(bar the linesman) he rounded Kirkam and rolled the ball into the net.
The Saints threw everything at the visitors in the last 10 minutes and once again the bar came to their rescue. ft 1-2.
