Saints 2 Radnor Valley 1.

The Saints beat a stubborn Radnor Valley side 2-1 tonight.

The first half was mainly one way traffic with chances falling to Sam Powell, Paul Ward Willis and Johnny Daw who all went close, another passage of play saw Daw beat three men on the left before cutting the ball back to the oncoming Stu Snedden but the youngster blasted his chance wide from close range.

The opening goal came from a quick Saints throw down the right to striker Ward-Willis, he jinked past his marker and cut the ball back to player manager Dan Jones who calmly placed the ball past the diving Radnor keeper, the Sainst went in at the break 1-0 up when they really should of been 3 or 4 up.

The second half was a simular story with the homeside attacking and the visitors defending stubbornly. A good move on the hour saw the Saints go 2-0 up, Snedden crossed from the left and Powell flicked it on to Tom Wilkes who made no mistake with his shot.

The visitors pulled a goal back on 80 minutes but never really troubled the homesides goal after. ft 2-1.

I was very impressed with the young Saints side tonight, I thought Johnny Daw looked very sharp when on the ball, Dan Jones did well down the left but it was Jimmy Walters who stood out the most and gets my man of the match for controlling the game from the centre of the park with his probing passes.
