Saints Draw at Forest Road.

The Saints drew 3-3 today with visiting Llanfyllin Town, striker Josh Wisniewski helped himself to a hat-trick, all three goals coming from the forwards left boot.

The homeside were slow out of the blocks, perhaps this being their 4th game in 8 days fatigue was showing, it was Llanfyllin who went close on 3 occassions in the early parts of the game, Josh Davies saved well and a couple of other efforts went wide.

The Saints finally got a foot in the game and with their first effort Josh Wisniewski scored but unfortunately was flagged offside, strike partner Kevin Jones also went close as did midfielder Jack Biggs. Player manager Tom Weaver opened the scoring with a crisp well placed header, however, this was past his own keeper to give the visitors a 0-1 lead.

Wisniewski made it 1-1 after a good run down the left by Wilf Ratcliffe, the striker smashing the youngsters pass by the visitors keeper for 1-1, the score stayed like this until half time.

The second half was end to end, it was Wisniewski who put the homeside in front for the first time when he again hit a well placed shot after a Biggs throughball. The Llanfyllin centre back who had been hitting some lovely dead balls all game scored a 30 plus yard free kick to make it 2-2, things got worse for the Saints when the lively number 9 lost his markers and ran through, rounding Davies to score and put the visitors 2-3 up with 10 to go.

Kevin Jones thought he had broke his recent duck when he hit a terrific shot past the Llanfyllin keeper but again it was flagged for offside. It was left for Wisniewski to grab the equaliser, Jones finding him in the area with an inch perfect past, the striker hit a beaut of a shot past the diving keeper for 3-3, incidentally all 3 Wisniewski goals were left foot volleys. ft 3-3

Hat-trick man Josh Wisniewski.

I felt the team looked tired today, we definitely missed the two Davies brothers energy in midfield and lacked a bit of concentration in defence when pushing forward for goals. To be fair to everyone it’s been a tough week with a lot of games played and we have several players out with injuries at present. On the plus side it’s good to have Josh Wis back as he looks like scoring every time he gets a chance.

Next up Llanfyllin away 2.30pm k.o.
