Saints Win Away.

The Saints got back to winning ways yesterday with an 8-1 victory against Builth Wednesdays.

The Saints were 1-0 up after 5 minutes when Gavin Williams cut the ball back for striker Rob Snedden to finish well form the edge of the box. Constant pressure during the half continued throughout and further goals from Jamie Howard,Tom Weaver,Ollie Cooke and Michael Ward soon saw the Saints 5-0 up. Builth scored a penalty to make it 5-1 but Mike Ward added another for Hay to make the half-time score 6-1.

The second half was a simular story to the fist with the Saints passing the ball around in awful conditions and creating loads of chances and Builths keeper making numerous saves. 10 minutes into the second half Snedden got his 2nd of the game and was then replaced by sub Ian Jones who tested the keeper with a pile driver of a shot which was saved once again. Tom Weaver finished the days scoring off with his teams 8th when he sent the keeper the wrong way with a close range finish. Final score 1-8.

It was good to to see the lads get back to winning ways and play some quality football on a surface which was not the best due to constant rain.I’m very plased to say that Bryan didn’t get my man of the match this week, for me it would go to Ollie Cooke for 90 minutes of solid workrate and for his 30cm screamer!
