Visitors Take The Three Points.

Rhosgoch came away from Forest Road with all three points after defeating The Saints 2-4.

After spending around two hours helping getting the pitch set up for the game I only managed to see around five minutes of it, long story unless you were at the game then you will know why, by the way I’ve had all the jokes thanks!

Man of the match Tom Wilkes with Rob Mac and Will Goodwin.

Rhosgoch went 0-1 up after three minutes, player manager Liam Jones took a free kick around 25 yards out, Saints stand in keeper Sam Powell saved but the quickest person to react was Geraint Lloyd, he pounced on the rebound and finished from close range.

Two goal Geraint “Lundy” Lloyd and Joey Price.

The lead only lasted a few minutes before Kevin Jones made it 1-1 after a good team move involving several players.

TD and Preecy.

Liam Jones put the visitors 1-2 up around the 20 minute mark, more Rhos pressure followed, Powell saved well with his feet on several occassions to keep the score at 1-2. Just before half time it was that man Jones again who scored the goal of the game when he unleashed a 25 yard rocket giving Powell no chance.

Action from Friday night.

Striker Kevin Jones then pulled a goal back in half time stoppage time when he shot from the edge of the area, Adam Jones should of done better but it went through his hands in the slippery conditions. Ht 2-3.

Rob Mac and Kev Jones.

Early in the second half veteran Geraint Lloyd made it 2-4 after he latched on to a through ball, he managed to slide the ball past Powell who had come out to the edge of his area.

The Saints probably edged the last half hour but the damage was already done, Tom Wilkes was causing the Rhos defence plenty of problems but Jones wasn’t going to let another one past him and saved well on a couple of occassions.

Ft 2-4.

I spoke with the gaffer and he thought his young side played well in patches, especially the second half, Rhosgoch have a very strong attacking line up, we dug deep in the first half, two bits of Liam Jones magic were probably the difference, a wonder strike and that free kick tha Lundy finished. Tom is hoping to have a few back for the derby against Talgarth on Friday night.

Tom couldn’t choose between Stu Davies and Tom Wilkes for man of the match.
