Two goal Rob McNamara.

The Saints were dealt a blow before the game when top scorer Jack Biggs was told by the referee he couldn’t play, Biggs who has a broken bone in his hand had a small cast on.

The Saints were on top from the off and it wasn’t long before Rob McNamara was put through to open the scoring, minutes later an inch perfect Adam Finn through ball saw the striker finish confidently to make it 0-2.

The pattern of play continued throughout the opening 25 minutes, Phil Davies who was causing all sorts of problems with his energy down the left side netted the third goal, firing across the keeper from inside the box.

A Sam Bradley back pass which got stuck in the mud was pounced on by the Bont striker who finished well from 16 yards out to make it 1-3, the three goal cushion was soon restored, McNamara was put through one on one with the keeper, he rounded him but was edged out wide, the striker crossed into the box were Josh Davies out jumped his marker to make it 1-4.

The Saints had enough chances to double that score but for some poor finishing and good goalkeeping. Ht 1-4.

The second half saw the manager ring the changes, the conditions got worse so it was difficult to play good football, however, we became complacent and nearly gave a couple of goals away.

We got the fifth and final goal of the game on 70 minutes, a Brendan Hackett corner was headed in by Phil Davies.

The rest of the game was sloppy and not enjoyable to watch, players were slipping and sliding everywhere. Ft 1-5.

We were excellent in the first half but not anywhere near our best in the second half, we could of conceded a couple bar some good goalkeeping. To be fair it was very difficult in the second half to play football, the gaffer chose Phil Davies has his man of the match.

Next up Dyfryn Banw at home in the league cup.
