Cup Win.

The Saints defeated Llandrindod Wells this afternoon in the quarter final of the Alfred Sparey cup. Rob Snedden opened the scoring with a diving header from a Phil Davies cross. The rest of the half was quite evenly matched with the Saints having the better of the chances.   HT 1-0.

The second half started with Llandod on top for the first 10 minutes but they never troubled keeper Bryan Kirkham. The Saints were awarded a free kick on the 55 minute mark and Snedden hit an unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner of the goal. The Saints then dominated the rest of the game and striker Kevin Jones turned on the edge of the box and fired in the Saints third after a long throw from his brother Ian. There were several other missed chances plus a couple of fine saves from the Llandod keeper.

Another good team performance against a good side who don’t lose many, the man of the match is again a difficult one, Rob Snedden scored two great goals, Phil Davies never put a foot wrong but I’m giving it to Garry Keeble for his workrate on and off the ball, the Llandod midfield like to pass the ball around but he didn’t let them have anytime on the ball all afternoon.

Hay st Marys 3 Llandrindod Wells 0.
