Presteigne Res 0 Saints 4.

The Saints won this game in the first half after putting in an excellent 45 minutes and going in at the break 3-0 up. The first goal came after a long kick by Bryan Kirkham was missed by the Presteigne central defenders, striker Rob Snedden timed his run to perfection and lobbed the advancing home keeper. Snedz then made it 2-0 with the goal of the game after jinking past several defenders he buried his shot into the bottom right of the goal. Midfielder Chris Preece got the third after having his original shot brilliantly saved by the home keeper Preece was on hand to follow up and he made no mistake from 8 yards. Garry Keeble hit the woodwork after a cross from Kevin Jones and Preece again hit an upright, there were also a couple of goalmouth scrambles which were kicked to safety by the home defence. When Presteigne did try and get out of their half they were met by a very determined back four of Mike Havard, Stu  Davies, Josh Davies and Steve Jenkins who along with the rest of the Saints were determined to get the 3 points to go above rivals Gwernyfed.  HT 0-3.

The second half was an anti-climax with the Saints happy with their 3 goal lead and Presteigne happy not to concede anymore goals. Kevin Jones did hit a post after being put in by his brother Ian. The final goal came with 10 to go after another long kick from Kirkham found Gareth Jenkins out on the right, Jenko let it bounce once and then hit it over the stranded home keeper to wrap the points up for the Saints.

Another excellent perforamnce from the Saints which puts the club in the driving seat for the runner up spot or more importanly bragging rights over local rivals Rhosgoch and Gwernyfed. I thought Snedz had a great 45 minutes, Havo and Preecy also played very well but for me the man of the match was Stu Davies who never put a foot wrong the whole 90 minutes.
