Two Out Of Two.

The Saints made it two win out of two tonight after winning 1-2 at Builth Wells FC.

Rob McNamara netted the opener and a Brendan Hackett penalty helped secure the three points.

The Saints dominated the first half possession wise but had nothing to show for it when the whistle went for half time. Phil Davies hit the post from 25 yards out and Brendan Hackett put his effort into the side netting when in on goal. Builth ahd a couple of half chances, Tom Lewis tipped an effort over the bar and a volley went wide. Ht 0-0

The second half started in similar fashion with us playing keep ball, we created a couple of half chances but to no avail, the opener finally came after a good move saw Hackett cross the ball to striker McNamara who made no mistake form close range.

Five minutes later it was 0-2 after Chris Roff was penalised for handball, Hackett scoring from twelve yards. At this point it looked like we would go on to score more but Builth had other ideas and in the 70th minue substitute Jamie Mcilroy hit a 25 screamer which gave keeper Tom Lewis no chance. This gave the hosts a lift and for the last 15 minutes they were the better side but the Saints held out for the second game in a row. Ft 1-2.

Manager Gareth Jenkins was pleased with the result, he said “Builth will be a tough place to come for teams so i’m happy with the three points”. He went on to say “We are a very young side and I think we will improve as the season goes on”.

The managers man of the match went to Matty James, just edging out Adi Lawford.
