Andrew Harris’ men secured a third straight league win after a comfortable 5-0 win over local rivals Talgarth Town Reserves at Forest Road.

After a cagey start the goal scoring was opened by inform Tom Wilkes, the tricky play maker jinked past a couple of defenders before firing to the right of the keeper to score his 4th goal in 2 games. Shortly after the lead was doubled, a corner delivered to the back post was headed back across goal by Tom Weaver who found his defensive partner Chris Preece who made no mistake from 6 yards. It should have been so much more for the Saints who missed a lot more chances to put the game to bed before half time.

The Saints came firing out the blocks after half time and put the Talgarth defence under siege. More chances were squandered before eventually a third goal arrived, Garry Keeble showed some nifty footwork on the left wing and the ball ended up at the feet of Darren Horrigan who showed good composure finishing into the corner.

The next goal summed up how the Saints played all night and your unlikely to see a better goal at Forest Road this year, starting from Liam Pugh in goal and across the defensive line the ball was worked to the right and after about 8 one touch passes a nod down on the edge of the box was met by striker Kevin Jones who side footed the ball into the top right corner – brilliant team goal. A few minutes from time substitute Lee Miles finished the scoring heading over the keeper from a rebound.
