The Saints under 16’s suffered their first defeat of the season last night losing 1-2 to Llandrindod Wells.
After dominating for long periods and having two goals disallowed the Saints were sucker punched from a good counter attack goal. More pressure was put on the visitors defence but time and time again they put brave blocks in. Kyle Harding hit a rasping shot from the edge of the area which was tipped onto the bar by the impressive “Dod” keeper, Callum Maddy had an effort blocked on the line and cleared and Matty Tong pulled his shot wide when in on goal.
The nail in the coffin came in the last minute, a Llandod midfielder won a 50/50 some 40 yards out and probably due to tiredness just hit it, the ball flew over the Saints keepers head for 0-2.
The referee indicated there were 15 seconds left, at which point we kicked off and Ricky Lynes went on a solo run from the off beat a couple of men out wide cut in and scored, there wasn’t anytime for a restart. Ft 1-2.
